I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your solidarity, your support and for your faithful cooperation.
A merry Christmas and the very best wishes, good health, luck and success for you-my friends, clients and equestrian friends- for the New Year.

08.12.2011 All tracks already covered…

For months we've been working for this one day ... now my seventh sport horse sales is already one week over and all tracks are covered.
The preparations for the event began at the beginning of the year with the selection of horses and especially during the recent months and weeks they became more intensive and concrete.
Now, one week after the event, the tents are already taken down, some of the auction horses left the stable and the mood in the stable is controlled by a satisfied quietness.
The auction last week was a great success and more successful than ever before.
The whole team around me did a great job. I would like to thank all involved parties- everyone was always motivated, worked with enormous pleasure and made an important contribution to the success!
02.12.2011 First horses left the stable...

Directly one day after the auction the first horse was picked up by his new owner.
I'm looking forward to hear about the first results of the horses and hope that the youngsters are developing well at their new home. Again congratulations the the new owners, have fun with your new sport partners!

01.12.2011 Former records broken

The seventh sport horse sales of Holger Hetzel was a great success. All 17 youngsters have found a new owner and were sold for the fantastic amount of 2 Million Euro in total. The average price was 117.000 €- this means it was the most successful auction till now, because last year the average price was 4.000€. The most expensive horse was the seven year old gelding “Mojito”, bought by Jürgen Stenfert (IRL) for 300.000€.
At 5.30 p.m. Carsten Soestmeier and Holger Hetzel presented the auction horses for the last time. The horses were ridden by rider of the stable and commented by the two horsemen. At 9 p.m. auctioneer Volker Raulf went to his auction-desk and opened this year's event.

In order to give potential buyers a little warmup, Holger Hetzel has made a special auction candidate again. And like last year a colt (Numero Uno x Waitaki) was sold for UNESCO- “Education for Children in Need”. The colt was auctioned for an exceptional amount of 14.000€, so Dr. hrs. Ute-Henriette Ohoven was very happy when she received the cheque for the foundation.
In her acceptance speech she said, the money was meant for needy children in Africa, "and this will also save lives”

A lot of famous persons from all over the world attend the auction personally, like Clarissa Crotta, Markus Fuchs, Willi Melliger (SUI), Denis Lynch (IRL) and Mario Stevens.
Two more vicitours have been very successful at this evening- the sponsors of Janne-Frederike Meyer (Gold-medal winner during the WEG 2010 with the team and team European Champion 2011) bought the horses Ready to win and Tinka’s Queen and Chris Kappler (USA, Winner at Olympic Games), got the horse Peter Lustig.
Three horses were bought by people from the Switzerland, two Luxembourg, two Russia and one Turkey.
29.11.2011 A good deed for the heart!

Before the real auction starts tomorrow, we will make a special auction- a good deed for the heart! A promising foal with a brilliant pedigree (Numero Uno x Waitaki) will be auctioned for the foundation UNESCO- “Education for Children in Need”. The money in it’s totality will be donated to the foundation, which has been standing up for poor children since 1992, providing them with school and vocational education for a brighter future.
The check will be received by Ute-Henriette Ohoven. She is only one of the prominent guests who will follow the event live in Goch. All interested people are welcome to visit this exclusive event, which is characterized by the pleasant atmosphere, professional organisation and exceptional horses.
28.11.2011 Auction horse nr. 20 "Unbelievable"

The collection of my 7th sport horse sales presents strong selected horses aged four to eight, which are already since a few weeks at my stable for training. Now there is one more auction horse- “Unbelievable”. Because of her incredible capability and her brilliant technique the five year old mare by Untouchable became also a ticket for the auction lot. Like all the other 19 auction horses “Unbelievable” is presented on this website. Be sure to check her out!
28.11.2011 Official presentation of auction horses

Yesterday a lot of visitors came to have a look to the official presentation of the auction horses. Some interested people seized the opportunity to try out their favourite.
Now the last preparations are running for Wednesday…

16.11.2011 The Countdown is running...

The second indoor (a tent) is built up, clippers are working all day long, outside the indoor you can hear the four-legged contented snorting and actually I moved a part of my office into the riding hall, because I don’t want to miss one second of the training of the delicious auction horses.
The countdown in on- only two weeks to go! In 14 days my seventh sport horse sales will take place- it is still exciting and connected with much excitement as the first time. All involved people are highly motivated. I am glad that the horses present themselves positive every day and the clients have a lot of fun when trying them. If you would like to try out your favorite, please do not hesitate to contact me at any time.

15.11.2011 Fourth in Grand Prix

Last weekend Little Tinka (half brother of auction horse “Tinka’s Queen”) once again showed that he is currently in excellent shape. In the Grand Prix of Oldenburg it was not difficult for me to show nice rounds in the saddle of the grey gelding. Both the first rounds as well as the jump-off were great- Little Tinka jumped fantastically well and was double clear. At the end we became fourth in this main class of the international three star show in Oldenburg.
A great side effect: Through this placement, we qualified for the final of the Master League in Frankfurt from 15th till 18th December 2011!
09.11.2011 Three weeks to go

The horses developed very well within the last weeks/month and are in a great condition. The youngsters enjoy the solicitous care and attention of the whole team in my stable and seem to be very satisfied. The horses are fit, we can go on, the stars of the future are ready!
Many clients were already at my stable to try out the auction horses. When the riders have a big smile in their face when riding the first rounds it is a very big satisfaction for me. We have convincing videos from the show from all horses to prevent an overload when jumping the young jewels too much. In case you have found a favourite you are welcome to try out the horse(s) at any time, but please make your personal appointment (+49-(0)171 480 8668).

08.11.2011 Clear rounds in Sonsbeck

Nom de Guerre and Christine
Although our main focus currently is directed to the sport horse sales, we took the opportunity to compete at the show in Sonsbeck. The organizer developed a very good schedule, which attracted a lot of rider. The riders of my stable showed many clear rounds and can be very satisfied, even if they were not placed in all classed because of the large number of competitors- better a nice clear round than a hasty round without a nice style.

Marilena und Lavazza Equimago
Christine and Nom de Guerre, seven year old gelding by Eurocommerce Napels, showed a nice clear round in the M* class. Daniel rode Quinte (7 year old mare by Quidam’s Rubin) in the same class and was also without faults.
Ricarda Tippkötter got the first place in a M*-class with her gelding Aronjo and was faultless in a L class with the young mare Aska.
Carolin Becker and Loreen were placed in a M *- class.
Marilena Schuhmacher and the six year old mare Lavazza finished clear in a L-class.
08.11.2011 Katrin second at DKB Riders Tour final

Katrin and Carlson
Katrin Eckermann- shooting star of the year! My former apprentice became second in the final of the DKB Riders Tour. After phenomenal performances during this season at major shows such as Münster, Paderborn, Donaueschingen and Hanover the 21-year-old Amazon showed her talent again: last weekend Katrin continued her fabulous form at the four star show in Munich. The young rider showed again spectacular rounds at the “Munich Indoors” and at the end she became second in the final behind the world-class rider Ludger Beerbaum. She just barely missed the win-sensational!

After fantastically clear rounds in the qualification on Saturday she delivered the second clear on the well jumping Carlson and released her happiness when crossing the finish line to wild cheers from the home crowds. It looked good for Katrin who with a top three placing could hunt down Ludger Beerbaum’s overall lead in the tour when he opened the ball with two down on Gotha.
Unfortunately she hit the first fence in the jump-off , became (fabulous) seventh in the Grand Prix but was not able to steal Ludger the title “Rider of the year”.
She was about to make the sensation perfect, but the second rank is more than brilliant! Congratulaions for this success, Katrin!
03.11.2011 "Jumping Princess" victorious

Jumping Princess
Auction horse “Jumping Princess” has proven her show jumping talent again: Yesterday the six years-old mare won a young horse class L (“Springpferdeprüfung Klasse L”) and became fourth in a young horse class M* (Springpferdeprüfung Klasse M*). Again two ribbons results for the young princess, who is already victorious in youngster classes on international three star shows. A future super star!

31.10.2011 Auction horse "Ready to win" is ready

Ready to win
Auction horse “Ready to win” showed it again- he is a genuine winner with the ability to go right to top! Last weekend the seven year old gelding (auction horse number 10) jumped exceptionally well and got two more placings registered with the German Equestrian Federation: The talented jumper was placed in a M**- class and became second in a 1.40m class with jump-off.
31.10.2011 Chiara successful in Lyon (CSI*****-W)

Chiara and Ludger Beerbaum
At the world class show in Lyon (FRA) the eight year old mare Chiara convinced her rider Ludger Beerbaum again. On Friday the pair was placed in a 1.50m class with a very good faultless round. On Saturday Ludger saddled the young mare in the “Equita Masters”, a 1.60m class with two rounds. Only the world’s best riders competed in this class, the twelve best riders of the discipline based on the FEI Rolex world seeding, as well as the current World Champion. The highly talented mare and Ludger became seventh in this class, one of the two major classes during the 5* show.

25.10.2011 Get ready for the next generation!

On 30th November 2011 my seventh Sport Horse Sales will take place at my stables in Goch. It gives us enormous pleasure and fills us with great pride to finally reveal to you this year’s outstanding collection of highly talented and well trained sport horses. The daily training makes me very happy, because the horses confirm their quality and show their talent and positive character every day again. Within the last weeks the horses developed very well and I’m looking forward to see the potential clients trying the horses.
Are you looking for a youngster? Or for a horse ready to compete on national and international show? Or purchasing a horse as an investment? Have a look to the collection and convince yourself. In case you have found a favourite you are welcome to try out the horse(s) at any time, but please make your personal appointment (+49-171 480 8668).
25.10.2011 Laura's successful weekend in Goch

Laura and Dancing Dream
On the weekend we have had some beautiful, golden autumn days.
Laura’s face was shining like the sun, because during the "Youngster Event Goch 2011" the eleven year old girl was placed in all classes she rode- no matter if she sad in the saddle of a horse or pony.
The great weekend began already on Thursday when competing with the horse Titanium. In a large field of starters Laura and the gelding were placed fourth in the A** class as well as in the L-class with jump-off. On Friday Laura tied to the success of the previous day: with pony Dancing Dream Laura she won the style A-class and finished eighth in the speed class. On Saturday the young Amazon rode her first L-class with Dancing Dream and demonstrated again a sovereign round: score of 7.0 and fifth place! I’m really pleased that Laura showed exemplary rounds with a beautiful style. She rode all classes with much feeling, no matter it was a speed class or not.
Great sport in front of fabulous scenery!

Pictures say more than a thousand words- we are proud to publicise the positive results and pictures of former (auction) horses under the topic references.
Due to the recent event- my 7th sport horse sales, I’m proud to announce that at present former auction horses are competing successfully at National and International Shows for Young Horses Classes, Championships and Grand prix, all around the globe.
I’m sure most of you will have heard the spectacular news about Ludger Beerbaum buying the mare Chiara. As a four year-old she was one of the lots sold at my 3rd sport horse auction, though her name at the time was Cortina.
We’ve put some highlights of former auction horses into a small video-clip. Please have a look and enjoy!

10.10.2011 Second place in Grand Prix

The traditional CSI*** Wiener Neustadt in Austria was again a very nice show with a pleasant atmosphere. It was the first indoor show after the season outside and all horses jumped really well. Beside the great performances of the two auction horses I’m very satisfied with Little Tinka. He jumped superbly in the Grand Prix. We were double clear and finished second behind Tobias Meyer with Aluta. Lanzarote was placed in the first class on the opening day.
All the horses jumped great for the weekend and I’m very pleased with their performance.
10.10.2011 Auction horses exciting at CSI***

Jumping Princess
Last weekend two auction horses of this years collection competed in the Youngster Tour at CSI*** Wiener Neustadt. Both horses jumped great and showed their exceptional quality:
“Jumping Princess” (Indoctro x Numero Uno) was clear all three days placed sixth in the qualification as well as in the final. The six year old mare was ridden by Christine.

Easy Going
“Easy Going”, seven year old gelding by Sibon, jumped outstanding in all classes. The youngster was clear in both qualifications and also in the final he jumped a double clear in classy style. We were placed in the final and convinced all spectators with his quality.
Both horses are just exciting and I’m very proud for being able to present them in the auction lot!

06.10.2011 Horses selected, videos are ready…

The horses are selected, the videos and pictures for the catalogue/DVD have been made- the auction time can start!
Last week we have made the video clips and pictures of the auction horses for the seventh sport horse sales on my yard.
As usual, we are offering a meticulously selected collection of excellent show jumpers, all of them with extraordinary qualities- this year again 19 high talented youngsters are in the collection.
We have continued to apply the same strict performance orientated principle whilst selecting this year’s remarkable sport horses. Placing particular emphasis on quality, potential, rideability and that something special we have gained through years of experience in the field.
One more important selection criteria was our customers’ requirements, and we have attempted to ensure that the horses in our auction collection reflect these. That’s why we are offering a number of older horses (4-8 year-olds) that are ready to compete at national and international level in this year’s collection. It also includes horses that make the perfect investment.
There are great horses in the spotlight, when the auctioneer gets in action on Wednesday, November 30th, 2011…
I’m looking forward to present you my sensational collection of future super stars within the next days!

During the CSI*** Humlikon all horses jumped very well, so I’m very happy after this show.
With Carlson under the saddle I placed seventh in a class of the small tour. Lanzarote was placed in a class of the medium tour.
Furthermore I saddled the seven-year old Aska in the Youngster Tour. The young mare has already learned a lot by her rider Ricarda Tippkötter, so it was not very difficult to present the mare on a positive way: I was able to place her twice in the big classes for young horses.
Especially Little Tinka presented himself very motivated and felt fantastically well: He was placed in the big tour and in the Grand Prix of Humlikon we were clear in the first round and qualified for the jump-off. At the end we were placed in this 1.55m class.

06.09.2011 … a nice trip to Ising
Because of the unique scenery and the great atmosphere at Gut Ising the trip to the south of Germany was worthwhile. A directly view from the warm-up arena as well from the show ground to the Chiemsee- where else do you have such a great panorama? Gut Ising is a great place, the organizers have spared no expense to provide a great weekend to the riders, horses, grooms and spectators.
Both Lanzarote and Little Tinka impressed with fresh rounds in all courses, the break seemed to be good. Both geldings were placed with clear rounds in the international classes.
In the Grand Prix I saddled Little Tinka, who jumped fantastically well. A light fault at the beginning of the course unfortunately refused the entry into the jump-off.
Christine rode Carlson in the classes of the European Youngster Cup and on Saturday the pair was placed in a 1.40m class with jump-off.
My daughter Laura started with the gelding Titanium in the L-classes of the show. The couple jumped all courses highly concentrated, stylistically perfect and in an exemplary manner and showed pure harmony between horse and rider. As a reward for the performance Laura could take a ribbon for a placement back to home!
06.09.2011 Successful weekend for Sara & Elvezia

Altenbach
Sara and Elvezia Pappone have had a very successful weekend in Busto Arsizio: Elvezia was placed fifth in a 1.35 m class with Altenbach. With Likido she finished fourth and sixth in a 1.35m class. In the saddle of Cyprianus Elvezia became fifth and eighth in 1.35m classes. Sara was able to win a 1.35m class with Coldplay. With Curtis she got the second and seventh rank in 1.40m classes.

23.08.2011 Unesco victorious in the Grand Prix

Last Minute
- She has just a "run" - Mandy Goosen. Since a few months she trains and shows the horses of Pascale Pfeiffer. During the CSI ** Ranshofen (AUT), Mand and the ten-year old Unesco could win the Grand Prix! With two clear rounds and the fastest time in the jump off Unesco and his rider got the first rank. Already on the first day of the show the pair could decide a class of the gold tour. Even the seven-year-old Last Minute was placed twice in the Youngster Tour.
- Britta Theußen and Unique got the fifth rank in a L-class during the show in Asperden. With Veerle under her saddle Britta was placed in a A** class in Alpen

- Catch me was ridden by Marie-Theres Leuchten and became third in a M* style class with jump-off

22.08.2011 Christine and Carlson victorious

On Sunday, Christine was able to win the main class of the show in Goch-Asperden. In the saddle of the nine-year-old gelding Carlson the Amazon was clear twice (first round and jump-off) and got the fastest time in the jump-off. But this victory was not the only one during the three-day show: already the first two days of the event were successful and were crowned with gold loops. Adriane, a six-year old mare by Indoctro, and Christine were able to win the Springpferdeprüfung Klasse L with a score of 8.5. In the Springpferdeprüfung Klasse M * the pair was placed third with the score 8.2.
Daniel and Pringle's got the third golden ribbon for the stable: The couple won a M *- class with jump-off and placed eighth in another M *- jumping. Also Full of Hope was presented successful: The five-year-old mare was placed in the Springpferdeprüfung Klasse A andL.

Laura and Titanium
Last weekend my daughter Laura had several highlights- first show with overnight-stay, first show with a horse, two horses in one class and her first L-class… Beside her pony Dancing Dream also Titanium drove with the big lorry to the show ground in Bonn-Rodderberg.
Dancing Dream and Laura showed a nice round in the A class and got the score 7.5.
In the first class with Titanium the eleven year old girl became the brilliant score of 8.1 and placed second. It really was a great round- super style, rhythm and both- rider her horse- were absolutely concentrated. On Saturday they were again clear and very certain so we decided to start in the L class on Sunday. I, and also all the other people around me, we very nervous, but Laura was absolutely cool. She rode fantastically well, was clear and placed on rank four!

25.07.2011 Companiero wins and wins and wins…

The last two weeks at the international show in Gera were quite successful. At the second weekend I rode the horses Daniel normally rides - it was very easy for me, because Daniel really makes a good job.
Companiero (Auction horse “Jackpot” in 2010) was the star- he is such a motivated, elastic horse and jumps everything so easy with a lot of scope… He gives his rider a wonderful feeling. I was able to win three of four classes for five years old horses with him! Amazing…
Full of Hope also felt very good. The young mare learned a lot since the auction and through the experience she becomes better and better- she really is a jewel for the future. Full of hope got again a placement in an international class.
With Samanta under the saddle I got a placement in a 1.40m class of the Silver Tour
Lanzarote was also placed in a 1.40m class.
Nom de Guerre and Christine were placed twice in classes for young horses.
18.07.2011 A lot of work and good results

On the weekend my team and I had a "major operation" with 16 horses at the Gera Summer Meeting 2011. Like the year before we used the two-week residence in Gera for training and showing the (young) horses. Circumstances for rider, horses and grooms were again optimal.
For sure the support and concentrated training of the horses and the several classes on different show grounds requires a lot of coordination, but all this was rewarded by nice and successful rounds:
Companiero showed once again his impressive side, was fresh every day and as always highly motivated. Daniel was able to place the son of Candillo in international classes for five year old horses on the fifth and seventh rank. On Sunday the pair won the final of the Youngster Tour!

Winner types: Daniel and Companiero
Daniel also showed Full of Hope. The five year old mare was able to enlarge her treasure trove of experience on the huge show grounds and was placed in an international class for five year old mare.
Christine rode Polly Pocket, qualified for the Federal Championships, in the youngster classes. The mare showed exceptional rounds and were placed
Nom de Guerre, seven year old gelding by Eurcocommerce Napels, became second and fourth in classes for seven year old horses
Daniel competed with Samanta in the international classes of the Silver tour. The nine year old highly motivated mare and her rider had their first start on an international show and presented themselves very positive. They got the fourth rank in a difficult 1.40m class. A great Premiere!

04.07.2011 "Nachwuchschampionat" powered by EQUIVA

Winner Tim Birckenstaedt www.psvr.de
With a score of 8.5 Pia-Marie Schröder and Timberland (by Numero Uno) finished the first class of the "Holger Hetzel junior Championships powered by EQUIVA" in Langenfeld last Friday. With this score the pair became second in this class. After an unfortunately less successful Saturday, on Sunday Pia and Timberland were back in top form in the Final and finished third in the M *- class with jump-off.
In the final class of the this championship, Pia unfortunately "scraped" with a dot spacing on a podium over and was fourth. Nevertheless, the young Amazon had reason to celebrate: Pia got the special prize for the best style, which is a very important and commendable ceremony. Congratulations!
I would like to congratulate winner, Tim Birckensteadt, which generated Pepe with his horse in all three competitions a steady performance. The finale, an M *- jumping with jump, won the talent with his bay gelding, which Tim did his triumph perfectly. A well-deserved success for the riders from the Riding Club Würselen, who must now look for a sponsorship deal with EQUIVA. Similarly, the best pairs of the Finals will be invited to a training course with me, where then are seen more talent to promote.
My thanks go out on this journey of Arno Dormann, CEO of EQUIVA that supports the highly vigorous championship as a sponsor.

Pia-Marie Schröder and Timberland
Students fit for 2011My students developed also very well. For example Pia-Marie Schröder who won the most important class for Rhenish junior riders during the Salut-Festival in Aachen two weeks ago. In the final she scored 8.5 for her style giving her the title. A special fact is her four legged partner Timberland- Pia-Marie’s parents bought the seven years old at the Auction 2009 and since that moment the young pair has made a great development which was rewarded with victories in International Amateur classes on international CSI-Shows. Beside Pia-Marie my other students have had also great success, which confirms my team and I in our work. In my opinion sensible training and the exercise of the basics for the young riders is a very important for achieving an international top-level.
04.07.2011 Christine is the best women

The three jumping classes at the Rhenish Championships for senior riders were very difficult and mixed the general standings after each round. Difficult lines and high jumps for the riders made it a real task to obtain the title of the "Rhenish Champion".
One of the youngest participants in the starting field was Christine, who saddled the ten year old gelding Aaron. In the first qualification the pair had only one time fault. On Sunday, Christine and Aaron showed a great round, Christine rode with a perfect style and Aaron jumped with much power and scope. They became fifth in this S*** class with two rounds and finished seventh in the overall standings. Although her top horse Tourbillon van de Zuidhoek stayed in the stable- a remarkable achievement!
04.07.2011 Virginia gets ticket

Also the six-year-old mare Virginia was able to get a ticket for the Federal Championships in Warendorf. The daughter of Chilento impressed the judges under the saddle of Frederic Tillmann in the qualification at the show in Langenfeld.
At the auction in 2010 the beautiful mare was purchased with the name "Big little lady" by family Theelen and since that time the highly talented youngster shows an exemplary development. Daniela Theelen was recently honored as the "Rhenish Champion” of the junior rider, the young horse qualifies for the National Championships, - if that's not a good omen ... Congratulations!
Virginia is next Companiero the second horse of the last year's collection which could qualify for the National Championships.

Team Holger Hetzel
This was 2010…
It is certain that this year wouldn’t have been so successful without the faithful cooperation from our numerous satisfied clients. But- to keep in mind- also the team around me is indispensable and the basis for every positive result: for the unproblematic processing of the daily work, the presentation of the horses on national and international shows and the successful sale.
04.07.2011 Lord Nobel and Jones victorious

Lord Nobel
Lord Nobel(auction horse in 2010) and his rider Jonas Ossenberg-Engels grow more and more together as a team and have been rewarded for the work of recent months: The pair won in Balve in a M * class with a score of 8.4. What a great success! In addition, the couple showed at the “Märkisch championships” in Letmathe two faultless rounds in M *- classes last weekend. In one class they got the blue ribbon for the fourth place.
Lantana performed also in Balve and was placed ninth in the Springpferdeprüfung Klasse
L and finished fifth in a Springpferdeprüfung KlasseM with rider Felicitas Erfurt.
01.07.2011 Companiero victorious in qualification

Companiero and Daniel Equimago
Exceptional… The small gelding Companiero showed again all his quality and scope. In Langenfeld, venue of the Rhenish Championships 2011, the five year old son of Candillo won the “warm up”, a Springpferdeprüfung Klasse L with the score of 8.1. In the Springpferdeprüfung Klasse M, qualification for the Federal Championships of young horses, Companiero and his rider Daniel were able to improve their performance and were scored with an 8.4. The pair won this class and qualified again (after the show in Sevelen the second time) for the big event for young horses in Warendorf. What a brilliant confirmation for horse and rider!
In the auction catalogue 2010 we described the youngster already with the words “Dream type, dream character, dream qualities” as well as “exceptional talent combined with a winning-heart make this horse a worthwhile investment for tomorrow’s courses”. The name accordingly: Jackpot. Since the auction the gelding confirms all these predictions and revealed round after round his exceptional talent and his enormous willingness to perform. This is an example that the size of the horse does not matter if the character is well. I’m very pleased that this young horse develops so exemplary and I am excited to see where his path leads yet!
28.06.2011 Rhenish Championships

Next weekend, the dressage and show jumpers and vaulters compete at Gut Langford in Langenfeld for the coveted green-white regional champion sashes and medals.
The main focus for me lies on my work as national association coach of the junior and young riders, who I will support and watch over the weekend to make possible nominations.
Also the "Holger Hetzel Nachwuchs-Championat Junioren Springen" will be held for the third time during the Rhenish Championships. This exciting championship for junior rider (born 1995 and later) is sponsored by the company EQUIVA.
I'm curious what insights this weekend will bring in terms of the Rhenish youngsters.

Aaron and Christine by Thomas Koppers
Last weekend Christine and I competed at the international show in Fontainebleau (FRA), where Christine has been quite successful.
With Aaron she participated in the CSI * and got a placement in a 1.35m class.. In the Grand Prix, which course was build difficult and high, the pair unfortunately had one fault and was “one out” of the placement.
Furthermore Christine rode the seven year old Nom de Guerre in the international "Lady classes". The son of Eurocommerce Napels showed absolutely great performances on the big, colorful show ground and jumped great in all courses. In one competition, the pair was rewarded with a second place for faultless rounds.

Conventional, good, non-reversible ‚Made in Mannheim’- this is the “Maimarktturnier in Mannheim”. 04.04.2011 Bella Italia- what a great weekend!

Wow… What a great weekend… The past six days of the Tuscany Tour were just amazing. We all were so fascinated of our horses, that we nearly didn’t recognize the wonderful weather…
I rode Chacco’s Junior in a class for six year old horses and finished fifth. With Mic Mac de Bance and Louisa I got placements in 1.40m classes of the Silver Tour. Lanzarote was placed twice in big classes of the Gold-Tour. I also rode Little Tinka in the Gold Tour and he performed unbelievable well- placements in 1.40 and 1.45m classes were his results. In the Grand Prix of the CSI*** we unfortunately had two faults, but nevertheless I’m very satisfied with him.
Christine was successful with Polly Pocket (see below) and her four-legged partner Tourbillon van de Zuidhoek. The pair was placed in an international 1.40m class of the Silver Tour. In most classes of the Silver- and Gold-Tours around 150 competitors started, this is why I’m really happy about all the placements.

28.03.2011 The Tuscany Tour started...

Since 8 days we are at the Arezzo Equestrian Centre to compete with 17 horses at the Tuscany Tour (ITA). For sure it is a lot of (logistical) work- some horses have to compete in different classes; all the other horses have to be ridden and so on… The three show arenas, all practice arenas, the stables and the promenade- everything is perfect and geared to the four-week-show. This is why so many riders are here- per class up to 150 horses!

The sun was shining, my team worked very well and the horses performed very well: Polly Pocket, already at the “Winter Equestrian Festival” in Wellington convincing, made sovereign her rounds. Under the saddle of Christine the mare was placed twice in classes for six year old horses. I rode Lanzarote in a 1.45m class of the Gold Tour and because of a clear round the gelding was placed. With Louisa, an eleven year old mare of Limbus, I was placed seventh in an international class with 137 competitors. Furthermore I was able to place Micmac de Bance (by Urbain du Monnai) in an international class. Tourbillon van de Zuidhoek and his rider Christine showed again that they established in big, international classes. The pair was placed in an 1.40m class and got the eighth rank in the European-Youngster-Cup-judgement of this class

Full of hope (by Stakkato) by Equimago
At the sport horse sales 2010 the mare „Full of hope“ was bought by the „Niederrhein Investmentgroup“ and since this time she develops on a perfect manner. The five year old highly talented sport horse makes great advances during daily training and also on shows. Last weekend Daniel presented the mare on a show in Goch. After reaching the finish line of the “Springpferdeprüfung Klasse A” the jury asked the spectators to clap their hands, before they rewarded the round with an 8.5. Full of hope won this class and I would like to congratulate the owners of the horse!
Furthermore Daniel was able to place the five year old Companiero in a Springpferdeprüfung Klasse A**. With Generation under his saddle he became sixth in a M*-class.

21.03.2011 Laura & Dancing Dream victorious

Laura and Dancing Dream
Of course I’m very proud when my employees were successful on shows; (former) horses of my stable are performing well or when I competed successfully. But the most superb moment is when my daughter is happy and performed on abnormal manner. Last weekend Laura rode fantastically well on the show in Asperden, she really presented her talent in riding. With her pony Dancing Dream she won a style class (E) with the brilliant score of 8.4. Also in the A* class the pair showed a very nice round and got the first rank with an 8.0.
21.03.2011 I'm packing my back…
During the weekend my team was busy packing all the staff we need fort he trip to Arezzo. The next three weeks Christine, some of my students and I will compete at the Tuscany Tour in Italy. All in all we take along 17 horses and therefore a lot of things are necessary- saddles, bridles, blankets for all weather conditions, feed and so on. Yes, it really was a logistic effort…. After a long drive we all arrived safely. The horses are fit, the team members are in pleasant mood and we riders are very motivated. That means- we are looking forward to the next three weeks and are ready to compete…
For sure the stable at home in Goch is not empty- the works and showing the horses on shows goes on!

15.03.2011 Braunschweig is a good place

Romualdo
This year’s “Löwenclassics” in Braunschweig were a good place for (former) horses of my stable. My stallion Romualdo was again ridden by Mario Stevens at this international four star show and showed a great performance in the final of the medium tour. The 13-year old chestnut und his rider were clear in the first round. Like three further pairs they were qualified for the jumped-off. In this course they were again clear and have had the fastest time! Romualdo and Mario won this 1.50m class and send Nina Fagerstrom (Talent) and Marcus Ehning (Plot Blue) off. What a success!
Ribery (auction horse 2008) and Christian Ahlmann competed in the youngster tour. They were clear in both qualifications.
The seven year old stallion Kleiner Onkel (auction horse 2009) was saddled by his rider and owner Denis Lynch (IRL) in the classes for young horses. The beautiful son of Heartbreaker became tenth in the final, a 1.40m class with jump-off.

Timberland
During the show in Braunschweig Pia-Marie Schröder has had another highlight in her young riding-career. She was qualified and nominated by the bonds coach for the “Bundesnachwuchschampionat”. This is the most important class for junior riders in the German show jumping sport. In the first class, a “Stilspringprüfung Klasse M*”, Pia-Marie and her gelding Timberland (auction horse 2009) got an 8.1 and qualified for the final of the best 12 rider. During the final on Saturday evening there was a great atmosphere and 5.000 visitors filled the indoor. The young Amazon and her eight year old horse were not impressed at all and showed a nearly perfect round. They got a score of 8.5, due to one fault they didn’t qualify for the best-four-round. Since the auction 2009 the 16 year old girl and her talented gelding pass through a exemplary development.

Nun geht es nach ein paar sonnigen Wochen mit neuen Erfahrungen und einigen Erfolgen im Gepäck zurück in die Heimat, worauf ich mich sehr freue.

There she will succeed Toni Hassmann and will be trained by Kurt Gravemeier, former bonds coach of the German riders.
Dear Katrin, it was a pleasure to work with you, whether during daily training, on national/international shows or during the auction time. We all wish you all the best and keep the fingers crossed that your dreams come true.

17.01.2011 Next clinic in April

My next clinic will take place on April 26th – 28th, 2011 (Tuesday- Thursday) at my stable in Goch (Germany). Students receive extensive flatwork training, so they learn to properly exercise and school their horses, develop feeling and timing, and improve their style and position.
Further emphasises are gymnastics, jumping course- sections and at the end jumping a whole course, like on a show.
You can find more information under the Topic “Clinics”.
17.01.2011 Investment in the future
Buying a young horse is an investment for the future: a future based on competitive
performance on the one hand, but also a good capital investment on the other. It is
for those reasons that the right management becomes instrumental in building the
correct foundations. I would be glad to assist you in realising the future potential of
your investment! Here you can read more about this topic!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!
A trying year, but also a successful year, is about to end. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your solidarity, your support and for your faithful cooperation.
A merry Christmas and the very best wishes, good health, luck and success for you-my friends, clients and equestrian friends- for the New Year.
I'm looking forward to welcome you at my stable in 2010!
All the best,
Holger Hetzel and team
23.12.2010 2010- A year full of Highlights!
The contemplative Christmas time and the upcoming turn of the year makes us thoughtful and reflective. The Team Holger Hetzel looks back to a very successful year 2010, which was shaped by several moments of success and happiness.

Kleiner Onkel
Wellington, München, Humlikon, San Giovanni
My horses for the Big Tour presented themselves very good on the international shows during this season. Placements in big classes during the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington (USA), in the Championat of Munich, as well as in the Grand Prix of Roggel, Pforzheim, Humlikon and Oldenburg are making me happy and satisfied. With several victories and placements in classes for young horses and in the international Youngster Tour the young horses gave proof of our good education and that we have chosen the right way of training.

Chritine Dorenkamp successful
Christine Dorenkamp, first rider in my stable, has had a great season 2010. Main focus was put on the “European Youngster Cup”, where talents between 16 and 25 years old have the chance to compete on international renowned shows. Christine and her four-legged partner Tourbillon van de Zuidhoek were placed during international shows like Munich, Nörten- Hardenberg, Lamprechtshausen and Gera with brilliant rounds. But not only that, During the CSI*** Donaueschingen the young Amazon won the final class of the EY-Cup. Last weekend she became seventh in the “Silver Final” at the Frankfurt horseshow. Christine’s season has had more higlights: At the Renish Championships the 23-year old talent competed for the first time in the age-classes of the seniors and ended up in fifth position. Also at the German Championships in Münster she showed a great performance and attracted attention with her stylistic rounds. World Ranking Points have been collected in Wiener-Neustadt, where Christine and Toubillon got the fourth rank in the Grand Prix!

Katrin Eckermann
Apprentice Katrin Eckermann European Young Rider Champion
This past season 2010, my apprentice Katrin Eckermann was also peppered with several highlights: In her age class „Young Rider“ Katrin and her gelding Carlson collected almost all medals possible to win. The highly talented 20-year old won at the “Preis der Besten” in Warendorf, got the gold medal at the Renish Championships, became first in the final class of the German Championships, during the European Championships in Jardy (FRA) Katrin got the team gold medal and individual silver and at the end of the year the courageous rider became “Indoor Champion” at the Salut Festival in Aachen. Also on the international scene of the elite riders my apprentice attracted attention with her excellent rounds, one example of this was last weekend when she finished second in the Championat of Frankfurt (CSI****).

Laura and Dancing Dream
The offspring makes big steps!
Besides the wonderful results of my team I’m very happy about the success of my daughter. Laura has made an enormous development and was able to win her firs A-class with her pony Dancing Dream. This is a moment that makes me unbelievable proud as a father!
The junior and young riders of the Rhineland are also on the right way for being successful. Unfortunately they haven’t had so much luck during the German Championships but I’m confident that they can win a lot next year. With Stefanie Reining, Katrin Eckermann and Andreas Kreuzer three Rhenish Riders were involved in the medal-winning team at the European Championships in Jardy.
During the „Nachwuchschampionat“ within the Rhenish Championships in Langenfeld it became apparent that we have several very talented youngsters in the sport. This is why I’m looking forward to do my job as the “Rhenish Landestrainer of the junior and young rider” in 2011.

Denis Lynch bought Wolkenkratzer
6. Sport Horse Sales
The explicit highlight and the main focus of our whole year planning was again my Sport Horse Sales. In this sixth edition 17 high quality jumping horses changed their owners for a total of 1.4 million Euros.
The most expensive horse was Wolkenkratzer, a seven years old son of Marlon. He was bought by “Rider of the year” Denis Lynch and I’m sure we will hear a lot about this pair in the future.
The Argentinean football star Hernan Crespo bought a horse for his wife Alessia Rossi. Chris Kappler, gold medal winner with the US-Team during the Olympic Games 2004 and individual silver-medal winner, purchased the five year old mare Polly Pocket for 150.000€. We also got the attendance from many amateur riders who where really exited to find their sport partner for the future.
600 interested guests came to my stable to attend the exclusive event live and I’m really looking forward to receive them again with another selection of high quality young horses next year.
